The Colonial Pipeline hacking caught the eye of the entire world, and Ransomware was at the center of its all: So unless you want your company to have its own mini-version of the great 2021 pipeline fiasco, it’s time to step up your security!

Luckily, by following these four easy steps, your business won’t meet the same (totally preventable) fate as the Colonial Pipeline!   Back up all your critical data regularly: This way, even if your computer does get infected, hackers won’t have any leverage over you. Never follow links in emails unless you trust the source: Even if the link comes from inside your organization or from a friend, you should always be leery. Keep all your systems up to date: The next patch you miss for your antivirus software could be your last! Apply the principle of least privilege: Be conservative with permissions, and only give admin rights to those who truly need them.
