I recently read an article about the Top 10 Cloud Computing Certifications -- where they are and how to get them. I wonder, though, how useful certifications really are. I've worked in the tech/IT field since I was 18 years old -- about 15 years now. And I've gotten certifications. In fact, I hold the CloudU certificate above.
What can I say -- I'm externally motivated by certifications and degrees. But would I try to do a cloud migration or talk to you about the details of cloud security? No. I can pass a test like no one's business, but practical knowledge and knowing how to pass a test are two different things.
So how do YOU feel about IT certifications for your IT company? Should we have them? Do you look for them in your IT company?
